Scarlets have been drawn in Pool 3 of the 2023-24 EPCR Challenge Cup with Edinburgh, Castres Olympique, ASM Clermont Auvergne, Gloucester and an invited side their potential opponents.
The pool draw took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – the home of this season’s London finals – on Wednesday lunchtime.
Scarlets were the final club drawn, placed in a pool with familiar URC foes Edinburgh, French duo Castres and Clermont – who Scarlets beat in last year’s thrilling home quarter-final – and Gloucester, who we last played in Europe in 2001.
The fixture schedules for both tournaments with dates, venues, kick-off times and TV coverage will be announced as soon as possible. Fixtures will be determined using an algorithm which will take into consideration the outcome of today’s draws, league calendar restrictions, individual club calendar restrictions and broadcast requirements.
The pool stages kick-off in December with rounds of pool matches. The top four from each pool qualifies for the round of 16.
