Brad Mooar admitted poor discipline cost the Scarlets victory as the Dragons grabbed a late 22-20 win at Rodney Parade.
Speaking to the media after a third defeat of the Guinness PRO14 campaign, the Scarlets head coach said: “I thought we had the recipe for taking the game away from the Dragons, but they hung in there and we certainly gave them plenty of opportunities; a couple of errors, poor discipline and they took their chances. Well done to the Dragons.
“It is always disappointing to lose a derby, but we have got to stay tight. We’ll have a couple of days in work at the start of the week, enjoy Christmas with our families and then we go again on Boxing Day.
“I thought our fans were outstanding again, they came out in force, they love the side and the side loves them. I hope they have a Merry Christmas and hopefully we can put a show on that they can be proud of against the Ospreys.”
More than 12,000 tickets have already been sold for the Boxing Day derby at Parc y Scarlets. Click here to book your place at the biggest match of the season.
