Parc y Scarlets will host a Women’s international friendly next month as Wales take on Scotland ahead of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
The international, which will take place on Tuesday, June 15, will be the third time the national women’s team have played at Parc y Scarlets, which also hosted the 2013 UEFA Women’s U19 Euro final.
It will be manager Gemma Grainger’s last chance to see the players before the World Cup qualifying campaign gets underway in September. Cymru have been drawn alongside France, Slovenia, Greece, Kazakhstan and Estonia in Group I.
The kick-off time for the fixture will be confirmed in due course. The match will be played behind closed doors due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
Parc y Scarlets hosted Wayne Pivac’s Wales rugby national team in the autumn while the Principality Stadium was being used as an NHS field hospital. It is also no stranger to international football with the men’s team having played matches in Llanelli.
