Scarlets will open up their 2023-24 European Challenge Cup campaign with a trip to face former French champions Castres.
The pool rounds of the tournament have been confirmed, with Scarlets – last season’s semi-finalists – also facing Georgian newcomers Black Lion, three-time winners Clermont Auvergne and URC rivals Edinburgh in Pool 3.
Dwayne Peel’s side take on Castres at the Stade Pierre Fabre on Saturday, December 9 (3.15pm UK time), then host Black Lion of Georgia at Parc y Scarlets on Friday, December 15 (8pm) in a historic first European game between Welsh and Georgian opposition which will be televised live by S4C.
Round 3 sees Scarlets head to France again to face the team they beat in a quarter-final thriller last season, Clermont Auvergne, at the Stade Marcel Michelin on Saturday, January 13.
Edinburgh are the visitors to Parc y Scarlets in round four for another Friday night special, again kicking off at 8pm in front of the S4C cameras.
