More than 120 local schoolchildren attended the Scarlets’ first Safety Education Day, tackling Internet and Fire Safety.
Year 6 pupils from Ysgol y Bynea, Ysgol y Bryn, Ysgol Bryn Teg and Ysgol Brynsierfel enjoyed a fantastic morning at Parc y Scarlets in collaboration with Dyfed Powys Police and Mid and West Wales Fire Service.
There were interactive presentations on Internet and Cyber Crime and Fire Safety as well as an opportunity to experience the inside of a police car and crawl through the Fire Service’s ‘Smoke House’ inflatable.
The children were given a tour of Parc y Scarlets, taking in the stadium gym, singing Sosban Fach in the home changing room and running out through the players’ tunnel. They also enjoyed a fun rugby skills session with the Scarlets’ community team.

Scarlets’ Wales international Joe Roberts made an appearance for photos and autographs, along with everyone’s favourite mascot Cochyn.
Scarlets Community Foundation Manager Paul Fisher said: “The morning was a huge success and I would like to thank the Police and Fire Service for their support. As a Community Foundation we aim to deliver more than just rugby opportunities with this event promoting relevant information on staying safe.
“We are aiming to run more of these events moving forward, and we would like to get more agencies involved.”
