Taine Plumtree called up to Wales Six Nations squad

Scarlets back-rower Taine Plumtree has been called up to Wales’ Six Nations squad ahead of the round two fixture against Italy in Rome on Saturday.

Plumtree, who has six caps for Wales, comes in for the injured Aaron Wainwright, who suffered a facial injury in the opening minutes of the defeat to France in Paris on Friday night.

The 24-year-old links up with the squad at their training camp in the south of France.

Ospreys centre Owen Watkin continues to undergo assessment on a knee injury also sustained during Friday’s match.

Former Scarlets tight-head prop WillGriff John (Sale Sharks) has re-joined the squad in Nice.

Wales were beaten 43-0 at the Stade de France with Scarlets wing Tom Rogers and prop Henry Thomas in the starting line-up and wing Blair Murray coming off the bench to win his fourth Test cap.
