Glasgow produced a dominant seven-try display to run out 45-3 winners at Parc y Scarlets.

It was a sobering night for the home camp in Llanelli as the West Walians couldn’t build on their win over Benetton the week before.

The Warriors bossed this round 13 URC clash from start to finish with Scotland international wing Kyle Rowe claiming a hat-trick - the Warriors’ line-out drive also proved a potent weapon.

Scarlets weren’t helped by having three players yellow carded - the first after just three minutes.

Led out by scrum-half Kieran Hardy on his 100th appearance, Scarlets were intent on a fast start, but found themselves down to 14 men quickly when Tom Rogers was shown yellow for taking out Glasgow full-back Josh McKay as he leapt to take a high ball.

In that 10 minutes when Rogers was out of the game, the Warriors made the most of the space out wide with Rowe racing over for his first try, converted by fly-half Duncan Weir.

A scything break from wing Tomi Lewis then set up a great attacking position, but the Scarlets had to make do with a penalty from Ioan Lloyd after Glasgow had infringed close to their own line.

However, with Scarlets falling foul of the officials, it was the visitors who took a grip on the rest of the half and were rewarded with a second try by hooker Gregor Hiddleston, again converted by Weir.

It needed some resolute defence to deny the Warriors a third try just before the break, leaving the Scarlets with work to do 14-3 behind at the turnaround.

The second half started in disastrous fashion, however.

Barely a minute after the restart, Glasgow had their third try of the night when replacement Dan Jones saw his clearance charged down by lock Scott Cummings who gathered and touched down

George Horne was denied a try for a double movement as Glasgow continued to threaten.but the fourth did arrive via a penalty try from a strong driving maul which saw Dan Jones sent to the bin.

It got worse for the Scarlets when Sam Lousi became the third player to receive a yellow, this time for a dangerous tackle, and Glasgow were soon celebrating their fifth of the night through the URC’s leading try-scorer Johnny Matthews.

In the final minutes, there was more to come from the Warriors with Rowe adding a late double to complete his hat-trick.
